PRECISE CUTTING AND GRINDING
Metkon’s MICRACUT series of precision cutting devices enables cutting of samples of different sizes and materials without deformation. The “Hybrid Cutting” feature, especially for multi-layered samples, allows cutting parameters in different regions to be adjusted during the same cutting operation. MICRADEPTH and MICRADEPTH-A devices are used for micron-sized material removal and angled grinding operations. These devices allow the areas of the samples to be examined to be revealed precisely.
PERFECT POLISHING AND MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION
After cutting and grinding operations, the surfaces of the samples need to be made smooth for microscopic examination. Metkon’s FORCIPOL and ACCURA series grinding and polishing devices ensure that the surfaces of the samples reach the desired smoothness. These devices can be used manually or automatically and can be used with appropriate abrasives and polishing materials for different sample types. After the polishing process, the samples are examined under a microscope and their structural properties and defects are determined.
