Aufgrund seiner hohen H\u00e4rte und scharfen Kanten ist es ideal f\u00fcr effizientes und kontrolliertes Schleifen. F\u00fcr die metallographische Pr\u00e4paration werden SiC-Schleifmittel in Form von Schleifpapieren mit K\u00f6rnungen von sehr grob (60) bis sehr fein (2500) eingesetzt.<\/p><p>Das anschlie\u00dfende Polieren ist ein entscheidender Schritt zur Erzielung einer spiegelglatten Oberfl\u00e4che, die frei von Schleifriefen und Deformationen ist. Dieser Prozess dient der vollst\u00e4ndigen Entfernung der beim Schleifen entstandenen Verformungsschichten und der Vorbereitung der Probe f\u00fcr die mikroskopische Analyse.<\/p><p>Je nach Material werden unterschiedliche Poliermittel verwendet \u2013 h\u00e4ufig Diamantsuspensionen, Aluminiumoxid oder kolloidale Kiesels\u00e4ure.
